At Thanet Primary we are all technologists!
At Thanet we are all technologists! From a starting point in nursery where children start to recognise technology in the home and school, our pupils are taught progressively how digital systems work and how to apply this to programming. Our pupils are equipped with a range of computational skills and an understanding of how information technology helps to navigate a rapidly changing digital world with a firm emphasis on e-safety. Our intention is that our pupils leave Thanet digitally literate and able to express themselves and develop their ideas as active participants in a technological world.
We aim to teach online safety by promoting a consistent approach to keeping children safe online and giving the children a voice. This preparation starts in Early Years and is built upon each year.
Across the school, computing is a significant part of everyone’s daily life and children should be at the forefront of new technology, with a thirst for learning what is out there.
It is our intention to teach our children the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in the 21st century, to stay safe, enjoy and embrace technology.
Through weekly lessons, computing at Thanet aims to provide a wealth of learning opportunities and transferrable skills, both explicitly within the computing lessons and across other curriculum subjects.
All children have access to range a multi-platforms including: Chromebooks, Windows and Apple.
