At Thanet we believe that PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) gives pupils the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain. Through our whole school approach to the teaching of PSHE, pupils develop the knowledge and emotional literacy skills needed to not only help them reach their academic potential, but also to help them maintain a healthy body and mind in later life.

PSHE at Thanet is taught and delivered through the Jigsaw Scheme of work, which ensures compliance with DFE guidance, a whole school (from Nursery right through to Year 6 ) approach, a common ‘emotional’ language  and that pupils’ skills are built on throughout their time in primary school.  Through half termly ‘themes’ and enjoyable and engaging weekly lessons, our pupils gain resilience, confidence in keeping safe and healthy (including online), understand the key British Values, build better relationships and understand their special value and individual worth within society.
